Welcome to the Resume Webquest! Our goal in this assignment is to learn the basic components of a resume and to design a resume that will get you a job!

Using the above link, answer the following questions on a separate piece of
paper: Questions 4 and 6 should be completed for homework on Day 1 of the WebQuest.
1. What are the three main types of resumes described
and when should you use each?
2. What are the three technical considerations
listed? Make a list of advantages and disadvantages for each.
3. How do you tailor your resume towards the
two kinds of readers that will see it?
4. Make a list similar to the one found on the
content page. Make one column that lists your strengths. Make a second column
that will list the strengths that specific companies will be looking for. (this
column will be used later—be sure to leave plenty of space.)
5. What information should you include on your
resume? What kinds of questions should you answer?
6. Using the Skills List, make a list of the
words that you think apply to you. New go through the list again and check all
those you think are most desired by employers hiring in your field. All those
skills checked are the ones you want to develop and emphasize most in your resume.
Apply the journalistic questions (above) to each skills word that was double-checked.
