Welcome to your first webquest assignment of the year!

            Over the course of this year, we are going to be studying literary terms in depth.  Though you may have heard of most of these terms, it is important for all of us to begin with the same vocabulary for interpreting literature.

Goal

The overall goal of this assignment is to allow you to become reacquainted with these literary devices and terms.  We will complete a more in-depth study of these tools as we progress through the year.  However, you will need to have a passing familiarity with these terms.  Remember, AP literature asks us to move beyond simple identification of devices to investigating the rhetorical effect of the use of such terms.

The assignment

Each group will be assigned a short list of terms that pertain to drama and literary form.

Your group will be responsible for:

*  Defining the terms.

*  Finding examples of at least 3 terms.

*  Design a poster that graphically displays your findings

*  Prepare a short presentation (5-10 minutes) in which you can instruct your classmates in the use of these terms.
